Electrical Design Manager
£70000 per annum

JDRoss have partnered with a client in London to join a developer and owner of onshore renewable energy projects.

This will be a key role within the businesses and the successful applicant will actively participate in the design/development of utility scale renewable energy projects (Solar/Bess/Wind).

Its a great opportunity to work on the full lifecycle of projects (development, EPC and newly brought assets). A small dynamic team with a flat hierarchy, great office location in London and lovely people.

Job Responsibilities:

Design and Modelling:
Design and model utility-scale ground-mounted solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and wind projects to optimize performance and profitability.
Engineering Drawings and Site Layouts:
Create engineering drawings and site layouts using AutoCAD, PVCase, and other design software for grid connections, planning applications, and feasibility studies.
Design Process Management:
Manage all internal design processes and coordinate with external third parties to ensure designs are produced on time and to high standards.
Technical Approval:
Review and approve technical construction drawings and support EPCs with pre-construction activities.
Technical Support:
Provide the wider team with any technical design support required in the development of projects.
Reporting:
Contribute to written reports for internal management and external customers.

Qualifications/Experience:

• An electrical engineering degree or a degree in a similar discipline.
• More than 3-5 years’ experience in the renewable energy sector, specifically in the design and engineering of large-scale solar, BESS, and wind projects.
• Strong understanding of PV, BESS, and wind components and their specifications.
• Competence in using design and modelling software, such as PVSyst/PVSol, PVCase, and AutoCAD.
