Location: Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane.

About the Opportunity:
I am working with an established renewable energy developer, owner and operator here in Australia. They are seeking for a Senior Legal Associate to join their Australian team. This is a mid-senior level role ideal for a lawyer with strong experience in Property & Land contracts within the Australian renewables space.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice on a wide range of development, property, and planning matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various land agreements.
  • Support corporate, M&A, joint venture, construction, and project finance activities.
  • Manage disputes with landowners and stakeholders involved in renewable energy projects.
  • Ensure compliance with legal obligations regarding the existing asset portfolio.
  • Liaise with lenders and joint venture partners, preparing necessary consents and notifications.
  • Commission external legal advice for specialised legal areas when needed.
  • Contribute to the development of in-house legal expertise and internal policies.
  • Offer timely and effective legal advice to various business teams within a fast-paced environment.
  • Stay informed of changes in regulation and advise on the impact to business operations.

Your Profile:
  • Strong experience in Land Law/Property within the renewables sector, either private practice and in-house exposure.
  • Experience with project finance, construction, or company law/M&A is advantageous.
  • Proactive, pragmatic, and capable of managing a diverse workload.
  • Ability to develop professional relationships and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, negotiation skills, and communication abilities.
  • A team player who can work independently when required.
