JDRoss are working with a leading company in the solar energy sector, dedicated to promoting sustainable energy solutions and reducing carbon footprints.

This company were founded in 2008 and are currently established in 9 countries with over 300 employees throughout Europe. They are seeking an experienced and passionate Environmental Manager to join the team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and environmental impact assessments related to our solar projects. This role requires a deep understanding of environmental regulations in Germany.

The role:

Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and EU environmental regulations and standards related to solar energy projects.
  • Monitor changes in environmental legislation and assess their impact on company operations.

Environmental Management System (EMS):
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO 14001 standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to the EMS.

Sustainability Initiatives:
  • Lead sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing the environmental impact of solar projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable practices into project planning and execution.

Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA):
  • Conduct and oversee environmental impact assessments for new solar projects.
  • Prepare and submit EIA reports to relevant authorities and stakeholders.

Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Engage with local communities, government agencies, and environmental organizations to promote transparency and collaboration.
  • Address environmental concerns raised by stakeholders and develop strategies to mitigate potential impacts.

Training and Awareness:
  • Develop and deliver training programs for employees on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of environmental awareness and responsibility within the organization.

Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of environmental performance, compliance, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Generate reports for management and regulatory bodies as required.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental management, preferably within the renewable energy or solar industry.
  • Strong knowledge of German and EU environmental regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in German and English (both written and spoken).
