JDRoss is working with a leading Independent Power Producer (IPP) specialising in renewable energy projects who are looking for a grid connections manager to join the business.

Currently they have active projects and headquarters across Europe in Spain, Romania, Germany, the UK and Italy. In Romania currently over 1GW of projects including a 70MW wind project & 30MW BESS projects to work on straight away..

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the grid connection strategy for solar, BESS, and onshore wind projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations and standards.
• Coordinate and manage the application process for grid connections, including the preparation of necessary documentation and technical studies.
• Liaise with Transmission System Operators (TSOs) and Distribution System Operators (DSOs) to facilitate grid access and connection agreements.
• Conduct feasibility studies and assessments to determine the optimal grid connection solutions for new projects.
• Monitor and manage the progress of grid connection applications, ensuring timely responses and resolution of any issues that may arise.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate grid connection requirements into project planning and execution.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes, market trends, and technological advancements related to grid connections and renewable energy.
• Prepare and present reports on grid connection status, challenges, and opportunities to senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including regulatory authorities, consultants, and industry associations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in grid connection management or a related role within the renewable energy sector.
• In-depth knowledge of the Romanian energy market, grid connection processes, and relevant regulations.
• Knowledge of how to design a high voltage substation or OHLs
• Project manager experience, ideally working alongside EPC aspects of a renewable energy project
