Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and a passion for renewable energy. As a GIS Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting our project development and operational efforts by providing spatial analysis, data management, and mapping solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct spatial analysis and modelling to support the planning and development of renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and other sustainable energy initiatives.
  • Collect, manage, and analyse geospatial data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Create and maintain detailed maps and visualizations to communicate project findings and support decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and environmental specialists to identify site suitability, assess environmental impacts, and optimize project designs.
  • Utilize GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) to perform complex analyses and generate reports that inform project development strategies.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in GIS and renewable energy.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports for stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, community members, and internal teams.
  • Support the integration of GIS data with other project management tools and databases.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience as a GIS Analyst or in a similar role, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
  • Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and related tools for spatial analysis and mapping.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and present findings clearly.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy technologies and project development processes is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, R) for GIS automation and analysis is a plus.
