JD Ross has partnered with a leading Renewable Developer in the search for an Operations Controller to join their team based in Canberra CBD.

You will work as part of a highly motivated team responsible for the safe and efficient monitoring and control of multiple renewable energy assets. You will be a dedicated team player with high standards and attention to detail, motivated to deliver a first-class professional monitoring and control service.

*Please note this role is Canberra based (remote working is not a possibility) and you must be willing and able to work nightshifts*

Role Responsibilities:

• Working with Asset Managers to ensure safe operation of assets at all times
• Monitoring & Controlling the assets via SCADA Systems
• Reacting to plant and market notifications and alerts
• Coordinate with TNSP's, AEMO etc. regarding asset outages, generation constraints (curtailment) or specific production/network conditions
• Handling emergency calls from asset personnel or other stakeholders
• Liaising with O&M Contractors to maximise availability
• Training is provided from our inhouse team as well as industry leading consultants from the beginning of your career in addition to as you progress.

About you:

• Degree in Engineering; Renewable Energy, Electrical or similar
• Exposure to electricity generation and the electricity market
• You are comfortable with Excel, analysing data and communicating your results. You are rigorous and analytical.
• You are reliable, organised and team focused.
• You are experienced and/or comfortable with working in a 24/7/365 shift-based team.
• You have a capacity to work under intense and constant operational pressure. Therefore, you can sustain the necessary concentration levels for long periods of time.
• You can self-regulate to maintain a healthy approach to a work of this nature, whilst delivering on the needs of the business.
• Your English is fluent (written and spoken).
• Previous experience in nightshift work would be highly regarded.
