A successful solar entity was formed in 2021 by the merger of a Dutch solar development company with an international energy joint venture, now managing a dynamic project array with over 6GW across Europe. They have a pipeline of over 2000MW in solar and BESS in the Netherlands alone, with more than 22MW already operational and an additional 100MW scheduled for construction within the year.
 
 
They have a skilled team of 20 driving development, analytics, and land projects. The organization is committed to supporting communities toward carbon neutrality, providing landowners with solid partnership opportunities, and ensuring power users access to reliable, competitive renewable energy.
 
 
They have partnered with us exclusively for their search for a senior project development manager who will join the director team. You have the possibility to lead team-members, work on projects (including a unique and highly complex project) and be a true stakeholder manager.
 
 
What will you do?

• Lead and manage the development of renewable energy projects in collaboration with provincial authorities, ensuring that all milestones align with agreed-upon timelines and objectives.
• Act as the principal liaison among various stakeholders, including municipalities, governmental bodies, local authorities, water boards, and environmental groups, to foster cohesive project progression.
• Coordinate the redevelopment of land, carefully balancing economic, environmental, and social considerations to align with sustainable development practices.
• Navigate complex regulatory environments, ensuring full compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ordinances at local, provincial, and federal levels.
• Facilitate meetings and discussions, presenting project plans, obtaining feedback, and achieving consensus among diverse interests and community groups.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, identifying and mitigating potential obstacles to project success, and optimizing strategies for stakeholder management.
• Drive community engagement and public relations efforts, communicating the benefits of the renewable energy project and addressing any public concerns with transparency and integrity.
• Take ownership of coaching team-members, collaborating with team, and setting the strategic vision for the business and direction.

 
 
What do you need?

• 5+ years of project development experience with the renewable onshore landscape locally.
• 2+ years of experience with groundmounted projects in the Netherlands.
• Thorough understanding and knowledge of the energy industry.
• Experience in the full project life-cycle.
• Solid track record of successful projects within the solar business.
• Experience in community participation and engagement.
• Proactive approach and motivation to be an active part of the energy transition in the Netherlands.
• Leadership mentality and team-player.
